Project friday
Alright everyone, listen up. I have an incredibly amazing idea for a blogging project. It's gonna be difficult if we're gonna put the effort into it, but it will pay off.
HOWEVER, i do realise we probably won't be able to put the effort into it, so lets just go on to describe the magnificently superlative idea.
Step 1: Prepare 2 boxes of random words.
Step 2: Every friday, we'll pick a word each from these boxes
Step 3: Dress according to the theme presented by the two random words.
Step 4: photo of completed look to be posted on the following friday
Repeat steps 2-4 ad nauseum.
I'm setting it weekly, coz daily would be way too hard, though it would be a heck lotta fun and probably get amazing traffic as well. BUT ah well. Life is real.
Kay. down to the practical.
As i am obviously too lazy to source out TWO hats, as well as prepare and cut out hundreds of little slips of paper to put into the two hats, i have turned to the internet for this example.
Step 1: Bookmark two metaphorical hats of words here and here.
Step 2: Today is thursday, but i shall pretend it is monday. I have picked out unctuous and ailurophile as my two words.
Step 3: Dress up as an unctuous ailurophile. Should there be ambiguities in the meaning of the word i.e. more than one meaning, you're at liberty to choose which definition you want. Today i intend unctuous to mean oily, and not smug, coz oily is so much more fun.
SO. our task for the week is to dress up as an oily cat-lover (or smug, it's up to you), photo to be in next week.
ARE WE GONNA DO ITTTT!!!!???

there is always a reason to shop.
These are what i've ordered off the inna netz in a matter of just 3 hours (while attempting to focus on a last minute rush for a project)
First, i ordered these 2 cheapies off one of the ubiquitous F21 sprees.
There are always at least 3 f21 sprees running at any time.
USD11.50
USD3.50
Then stuff from supplier sprees. I swear supplier sprees are my downfall, i buy so many cheap cosmetics that i don't even want to buy anymore. I even have another box of falsies around that i don't use.
These are like dramamamama scary, i dunno if i'll ever use them!
S$6.50
and of course something from nu ren wo zui da
Tummy wrap thing. Hahaha!
Keep my posture good, say byebye to my tumtum!
9.90! similar stuff selling for twice the price at watsons.
and i bought something off zipia, planning to give it away as a christmas present. No pics in case someone reading this thing is the person who gets it. Just can't decide which handsome to give it too. HAHA.
Yups, so there is always a reason to shop online, and there's always a good deal hiding somewhere. You just gotta stop getting in the malls, sit down on your ass and get clicking!

Rant on mascara and people

Let me begin by saying I think i have verynearly found my hg mascara.
I'll need to use up my three sample sized tubes of Diorshow mascara (Classic, Blackout and Iconic) before i allow myself to buy it though...
And i'm still not sure if it is the classic diorshow that i have, or it may be Diorshow Unlimited or waterproof. I dunno right now.
That coz Diorshow classic is like magic for your lashes, but it's just that tad bit too unwaterproof, and i do cry a fair bit. So perhaps the waterproof version is my HG mascara, i have to wait till i use up these to see.
Why i suddenly blog this is because yesterday night i decided to try putting on the diorshow (classic) mascara without first using an eyelash curler, to see if it would be any good.
Drugstore brands like loreal and revlon and even majolica simply do not work without an eyelash curler, and for the former 2, even if you've curled your eyelashes, they simply uncurl and go straight once you've applied the mascara. At least majolica holds a curl, if it cannot produce one.
BUT Diorshow was something else altogether.
It creates a curl.
Maybe you can blame me for being suaku since i'm just a kid and haven't exactly been able to afford luxe brands... But Diorshow really lives up to it's own hype.
Sure it doesn't claim to produce a "false lash effect" which so many brands do and fail, but Diorshow claims:Diorshow Mascara is Dior's original, must-have mascara that delivers ultra-glam, catwalk-length lashes. Makeup artists all over the world use this product to create the longest, thickest, curviest lashes ever.
Sephora
Lol no lie.
Then again i see almost no difference between classic and blackout, and i actually prefer the classic.
But i do think i like the blackout description more. From the catwalks to you. Lashy "doe eyes" are hot this season and Dior does it best with an intense, deep kohl black shade.
I think it's more accurate. Coz what on earth is a catwalk-length lash?
Excited to see the givenchy phenomen'eyes in the flesh at the end of this month, and hoping to somehow find the chanel inimitable somewhere...
Exciting Givenchy
and my rant on people is merely this.
What is it about "brand loyalty"? Is it just not seeing far enough to notice that other brands offer the same products, but better?
Maybe mac's fluidline is a really really good gel liner, and they have an awesome range of shadow colors, but their eyeliner is nowhere near the best, neither their mascara. In fact i think their only strength is range of colours and accessibility.
I'm sure though one chooses to stick to the brand, they'd find themselves complaining once in a while about something or other.
Ok, sure, maybe you're sticking with something you find safe, but there's a wealth of information out there to help you find something better.
Haha and this whole brain issue on people not ever stepping out of their familiar shop to find something better began coz of earphones.
I suppose brand loyalty is simply convenience.
I also believe i am begining to monopolise this blog with vapid postings on cosmetics and girly things.

New Season in Tekong
Hello everyone!
Just decided to put up a post declaring that i'll be away for the next two weeks.
Because..
I'm going to serve the country in NS!! Wow i just got a revelation from God. To everyone else of the world, it may be counted as National Service. But i am of God and not of the world, and to God this simply is just a New Season for me; albeit mostly spent on the island of Tekong. With this New Season, God is ever so faithful and will be there with me every step of the way.
Just a few days ago, God said this to me from the Spirit;
My NS (including the BMT period in Tekong), is gonna be so good, not for any other reason except for the fact that God is good. Because God is good all the time, and because the Creator of the heavens and the earth loves me so much, my NS will be good.
So here goes! I'll see everyone else in two weeks time when i book out :)
Take care, world! And yes also take care, Celeste, Cherri and Wanhua!
Jesus loves you all!

Run baby run, don't ever look back
This short film which is tagged, was directed by Wong Kar Wai and features Clive Owen, is one of the eight pieces from the online series of short films called "The Hire", and this is a series more popularly known as the BMW Films.
Basically, BMW gave the world's best directors and producers a bunch of BMW automobiles and gave them the free will to film whatever they want, however they want, and to do whatever story they want.
Just as long as the film features the BMW vehicles.
And what comes out of the hands of such famous geniuses such as Wong Kar Wai (as shown in the video), John Woo, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott + Tony Scott, Guy Ritchie and many more, is nothing short of being mindblowingingly awesome!!
Whilst most of the films features high speed chases and loud crashes, the one which i tagged above, is by far my favourite. Simply because WKW (as he likes to be known as), mixes the delicateness of the underlying story into the fast paced chase scene sequences so beautifully with the subtle use of slow music and racing shots.
As always, WKW's work is sheer brilliance.
And if you are interested to view the rest of the BMW films, you can search for "BMW Film" on Youtube and VOILA! :D
Enjoy!

to be wed
every girl dreams of walking down the aisle in her magnificent dream perfect white gown lookin gorgeous with perfect hair perfect teeth her perfect smile. yes?
quite afew of the people i know who have been goin out for awhile are finally gettin married. from the proposal, to the announcement, to the preparation of wedding gowns, location, photoshoots and whatnots.. its been an amazing journey to witness.
but witnessing this journey not only reminds me of how incredibly faithful my daddygod can be, it at the same time gives me this.. incredibly sweet warm feelin inside, gooey not because i am eager to marry anyone, but more because of what i see btween the bride and her girlfriends. the way the bride shares about her plans, the way her girlfriends respond in crazy excitement.. celebrating together, rejoicing for one another, just plain being happy that one has found 'ever ever after'.. just that pure tender sweet love between girls.
and then i think about my own wedding. again no, not of the groom, but of the people i know who will be standing there beside me. the girls who i know will screeeeeeaaaaammmm when i tell them i am finally engaged, oh but wait, maybe the fiance will include them in the proposal so they'll know even before me. but hmms. hahahaha you get my point. i know these girls will be the ones who tell me that no cherri, your wedding cake cannot be 10 stories high, no you cannot have 10 bridesmaids, no cherri i dont think you can get a 3 months break from work just to go on your honeymoon...
so yeah. i am all gooey and happy becus these girls would have witnessed my journey, and would be by my side on that special day of mine, just to celebrate me, love, and most imptly, the one who made it all possible.
(:
