to be wed

every girl dreams of walking down the aisle in her magnificent dream perfect white gown lookin gorgeous with perfect hair perfect teeth her perfect smile. yes?

quite afew of the people i know who have been goin out for awhile are finally gettin married. from the proposal, to the announcement, to the preparation of wedding gowns, location, photoshoots and whatnots.. its been an amazing journey to witness.

but witnessing this journey not only reminds me of how incredibly faithful my daddygod can be, it at the same time gives me this.. incredibly sweet warm feelin inside, gooey not because i am eager to marry anyone, but more because of what i see btween the bride and her girlfriends. the way the bride shares about her plans, the way her girlfriends respond in crazy excitement.. celebrating together, rejoicing for one another, just plain being happy that one has found 'ever ever after'.. just that pure tender sweet love between girls.

and then i think about my own wedding. again no, not of the groom, but of the people i know who will be standing there beside me. the girls who i know will screeeeeeaaaaammmm when i tell them i am finally engaged, oh but wait, maybe the fiance will include them in the proposal so they'll know even before me. but hmms. hahahaha you get my point. i know these girls will be the ones who tell me that no cherri, your wedding cake cannot be 10 stories high, no you cannot have 10 bridesmaids, no cherri i dont think you can get a 3 months break from work just to go on your honeymoon...
so yeah. i am all gooey and happy becus these girls would have witnessed my journey, and would be by my side on that special day of mine, just to celebrate me, love, and most imptly, the one who made it all possible.

(:

so while we're on the topic,
this is one of my favourite sites

charles and keith

remember back then when charles and keith was a local aunty brand that no normal teen would shop in?

well they've certainly been upping their game!

it used to be this place my mother would shop, and then it became the place to get nicer slippers (remember those incredibly noisy slippers/flats that everyone use to wear last time?!), and then nowwwww.. omigosh!
everytime i walk in i feel like grabbing something!
just now i popped by during lunch, saw 2 new pairs of sandals that i would love to see on my feet, saw the other 2 that i've been meaning to buy, saw a really cool lookin pair of thick strapped pointy mary-jane pair of black pumps with the cutest miumiu-esque kind of heel. and best of all, the heel wasnt too tall so i wouldnt be too much of a giant, and the pair of pumps are incredibly comfortable! gosh...

and everytime i go in, i seem to spot something new that i want to add to my not-too-large shoe collection! and not just the shoes, the bags! the shades! the belts even sometimes!

woahhhhhh

and and and, remember when charles and keith used to be that cheap place with shoes no more den 30 bucks... thats definitely changed. cus some of it can cost up to 79 bucks now!

these are all on discount already!!!

go out and get em.....

wahahaha.

and the more expensive stuff, just realiesed, is actually the newly launched 'charles and keith signature label'

according to AsiaOne,

This line, which was launched in June last year, costs 30 per cent more than the original Charles & Keith range. This is because genuine leather is used and more attention is paid to details.

the catalogue is amazing, you can view it here http://www.charleskeith.com/Signature/wallpaper.html

the pictures are really quite gorgeous, with a gorgeous model, in gorgeous clothes, at that gorgeous place, and definitely, gorgeous shoes. i wouldnt mind using those pictures as wallpaper. hahaha but i shall stick to my 'psalm 139'. very chic. i love them.

hmms. if only i had money now i could buy all those shoes. sigh. not yet topshop zara level, so we'll keep to charles and keith for the time being i suppose! they'll suffice!

Oh such a conspiracy!

Remember this movie?

now compare that movie to this one......

can't find the link?

well... let me help you abit...

what if i told you that the title of this 2005 korean film is Jenny, Juno?

and what if i told you the plot centers around the relationship of a 15-year-old couple, Jenny (Park Min-ji) and Juno (Kim Hye-sung), who meet in school. And when Jenny discovers that she is pregnant, she and Juno decide against having an abortion, opting for parenthood instead?

sounds familiar?

how about.. if i add a comment made by the "screenwriter" of JUNO (the american film) Diablo Cody, regarding this coincidence in plot in October 2007, stating that she had been unaware of the existence of Jenny, Juno prior her own film's release. Plus, she said that, although she had not yet watched Jenny, Juno, she now is interested in seeing it.

Well.... a ripped off plot or not... its not up to me to decide.

Would you like to watch and be the judge?

Mama Mia.. here we go again

i am attempting to write a movie review about this film....

and if you are a die-hard fan of Mama Mia or ABBA,

i would suggest you turn away from this site.

NOW!!!!!

i know the Mama Mia musical has been around since God knows when, and in no way am i being disrespectful to the craft that is of combining theater, dance and music together.

but OH MY GOODNESS, the Mama Mia really sucks!!

firstly, i am a great fan Meryl Streep and am a closet Pierce Brosnan fan as well. (cue gasps of unbelief)

whilst Meryl Streep does a mighty fine job at holding her tune and acting convincingly at the same time, the movie makes absolutely no sense at all!!

at some points in the movie, i found myself cringing at the cheesy dance choreography, crazy calefares who pop out of the blue and not to mention... the no-link inclusion of ABBA music at highly inappropriate moments.

Alright, let's be honest here. ABBA is highly enjoyable pop music from the 80's, but it does not make much sense at all!!

I mean, come on... what has a Super Trouper's blinding beams gotta do with someone's emotional status of being blue?!

the only thing i found mildly enjoyable in the movie was the gorgeous Greek scenery and the equally gorgeous sight of the aged Pierce Brosnan, who REEEEAAALLY looks damn hot with his grayed hair and slightly wrinkled face. but he really can't sing. i was praying throughout the entire movie that he would just continue speaking and not sing another note.

the other supporting casts were definitely not cast based on their singing prowesses as well, which was a BIG mistake because this movie is actually a remake of the musical!!!

ok. you can tell how disappointed i am with the film la.
i was really looking forward to watching the film because Meryl Streep's in it and plus the fact that Mama Mia has been around for so long!

alas, the movie is sorely disappointing.

BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good and affordable cleansing oil

Hi there,
I am a bit of a makeup junkie if you haven't realised by now, but though i'm a makeup junkie i've never really paid much attention to removal of makeup.
Once, not so long ago, i remember that i read an article stating that makeup isn't bad for your skin, it's neglecting to remove makeup properly that is.

I use this lousy chinabrand i got from bugis street for about $7.
It works quite badly. My trusty majolica majorca mascara takes alot of effort to remove with this remover ( i always lose eyelashes), and it also leaves a stubborn oily residue that remains even after washing my face.

So today i had a bit of time off for myself, and so i went watsons shopping and bought this!

Biore cleansing oil, as recommended by Kimoko.
It is affordable, at about 13 (i got it for 9.90, i don't quite know how...). Compared to shu uemura's cult fave at close to a billion dollars. Don't think the premium justifies the quality. Sure, the biore oil has no frills, but it does the job damn well.
So, i used the biore cleansing oil today, on a heck lot of eye makeup. I'm in some sort of emo phase right now, so think eyeliner on the entire lower eyelid, black eyeshadow on the middle eyelid and mascara, as well as eyeliner below the eye + eyeshadow there as well.

The bottle says "massage 4 pumps into the face until all makeup is dissolved" I used nothing near that. For me, about half a pump in total for both eyes and maybe another half pump for the rest of the face and all the makeup just melted away. Even the majolica majorca mascara which is soooo waterproof that even after walking through the rain, my eyelashes stay as curled as ever.
And it literally dissolved. Like now u see it, now you don't! Even the lower eye eyeliner which usually takes some effort to remove, just dissappeared. And one wash with my usual cleanser did the trick. Fresh clean makeupless skin! Best of all, no stinging at all. Not even one bit. I rubbed the oil right into my lower eye to get at the eyeliner there, and i accidentally touched my eye, but no pain! haha though i must admit i'm not one with sensitive eyes lar.

Wah. And it's only 9.90 at the guardian in millenia walk. Go get it go go go.
And if biore would like to pay me for endorsing their product in cash or kind, i'd be glad.
Actually kimoko and friends say the facial cleansing oil cotton sheets are better, and i got a pack of that too. But i don't feel like opening it today, so maybe i'll review it another day.

Oh. yah i happen to have a super ugly pic of my face today...

I think angmohs have a thing for bangs

Bangs as in strong blunt straight fringes, in case you didn't know.
That coz, i've never gotten so much unwanted attention from angmohs before. Youngmohs, oldmohs... They're all suddenly deciding to talk to me in the street, on the bus.... Ohmigod i hate it it's so weird!
By the way.

So why would angmohs have a thing for asian girls with bangs.
I haven't the foggiest, but i remember something my lit teacher told me when i was in sec school which is, they find orientals exotic. And i suppose bangs make asian girls look even more asian.
Gosh. :(
I have failed in my quest for ugliness. Not that the opinion of angmohs matters much more to me.

Anyhow, the reason for this post. Today on bus 95, i was sitting there minding my business when this bunch of angmohs came up the bus. One angmoh guy sat on my left, and a girl on my right. The guy turned round and said "hi how are you doing today"
And i really should learn more about strangerdanger, coz i did the same thing i did last time and i replied :O. But then again, u have to forgive me coz it was a bus leh. It'd be rude not to, and anyway, his female friend was there....
So then he asked me lots of stuff.. Where i came from (school, NUS) What i was studying (lifescience) Whether i was one of the people who take lifescience coz i wanted to be a doctor but failed (No, i wanted to take biology when i was really young, and since biology is under life science.. But i've changed my mind about biology and i'm gonna do something else under life science)... Questions like that.
... Then i had to get off the bus, and surprise surprise, one of my friends was at the back of the bus. Haha he should have been in the front to save me lor, but then he got on at an earlier busstop i suppose......
Oh well. an interesting experience all in all, and nothing too dangerous this time.

Let go, just let go

i'm sorry but i've been listening to this song umpteen times.
what started out as an audio obsession drove me to google for the lyrics and meaning behind this song by Frou Frou.

"it's alright. cause there's beauty in the breakdown..so let go, just let go"

i think this perfectly describes what makes people human.

when people "break down" or have a emotional breakdown it is usually over a tradgedy or sadness of some kind.

and there is a strange kind of beauty in this, because the heart of humanity is our emotions.

although it can seem like the world is ending.
when you feel like you cant sink any lower, just remember this: in order to feel that level of devastation, you have had experienced something very very wonderful before in order to know what devastation is like.

furthermore, as beloved children, we can always expect things to only get brighter and brighter.

so....be glad that whatever happened, happened.
cause there truly is beauty in that.

so let go.
just let go.

and let God

dreaming laputa

what is it like to receive mystery flowers every 1st of the month, see shooting stars fly across the sky, ride a pony till ur butt hurt, swim from coast to coast in free style, laugh with no fear of tomorrow, share an intimate smile with someone, play the piano until ur heart sings, open your lips to reach perfect notes, remember the color of every flower you pass by, dance on bubble wrap with a tamberine, hold a baby in your arms and twirl, cry until joy overflows, watch a 6year old girl giggle, lie under the sun without getting burnt..

haha.

i dont know.

(:

but we'll dream, wont we.

quoting my sister:
"Gone are the ambitions. Just follow the rules, keep out of trouble and stay safe. Each of us.. Robots, slaves to what the world says.
Hey, put a smile on your face, you should be satisfied with what you have.
Don’t bother dreaming big, and all you get is a bruised ego and uneccessary trouble."

are you like that?
i dont want to be like that.

ambitions greater than this world, rules are meant to be broken, stay in trouble-it keeps god in the equation, why stay safe- just free fall and know he'll never let go.
we're not robots, we're children. little giggly silly kids that know the world is in their daddy's hands.
hey sweetie, put a smile on your face, because He gives you more than you have ever desired or even expected.
dream big darling, dream big and big and big, bigger and higher, larger than life, and then He who puts these dreams in you shall see that they come to pass by His power.

ahs.

who says its hard to dream?

Why oh why, Delilah?

I am officially pissed off. ticked off. infuriated. exasperated. impossibly and undeniably irritated.

i cannot find rainboots anywhere.

the only ONE PAIR i found that ships to Singapore, is selling at a price of $55. and i am not about to spend that kinda money on a pair of rain boots. but still!!! argh!!

it is now 4:49am and i am still trying to look for rainboots.

why is it that Ebay.com has gabillion and one selections but Ebay.com.sg has, oh let me count.. ZERO! NADAH! ZILCH!

*garrrrrrrrr*

umbrellas & rainboots.

its the monsoon season again.
is it??

somehow i dont remember it being so early, but since it is raining almost every single day, i've stopped questioning whether its monsoon season already or not and accepted the fact that whether i like it or not, the rain is here and is prolly gonna stay till the end of the year.

gah.

dont be mistaken. i love the rain. i love looking at the rain, i love the sound of the rain, i love laughing at people who are caught in the rain (?!), i love the way the air smells after it rains.. i like the rain. as long as i am nice and warmly cuddled inside, observing the rain, not drenched IN the rain.

especially, when i have my nice pumps on, or if im wearing my leather sandals. because then, my pretty black pumps would get soaked, and my feet will stink, same for the leather sandals. and piang eh, stinky feet in sandals is damn sad can.

so. i have come up with the perfect bimbotic solution.

1. get myself an, umbrella.
2. buy a pair of rainboots!!! *squeals

i dont ask much for an umbrella,
just so long as it UVprotectedwithprettyprintsmatchesallmyoutfitsnottooheavy and ofcus, fitintomytote. yeah! thats all i ask. not too much to ask what right?
haha joking.

from MNG and Target.

the MNG umbrellas are available in stores currently, the translucent one can be found at Daiso or Haji lane. the rainboots however, are all from Target.

thing is, will you actually wear a pair of rainboots out?

and how would you keep those happy looking boots? leave them at home or in the office? or buy 2 so one each?

hahaha

k. actually, much to love for the rainy season. means all the cardigans, thicker jackets, long skirts, boots even can come out to playyyyyyyyy
